VOTE ON IN STATE TUITION FOR ILLEGALS IN NJ POSTPONED.
N.J. Senate puts off vote on college fees for illegal immigrants until Monday

The state Senate has postponed a vote to Monday on whether illegal immigrants, who must pay out-of-state tuition to attend New Jersey public colleges, will be allowed to pay just the much lower in-state rates.
The Senate had scheduled a vote on the issue for Thursday, but after a long debate about legalizing gay marriage — a proposed bill that met defeat — legislators decided to table the in-state measure until next week.
Proponents of the in-state bill said they were not disappointed and noted the delay would them give still more time to make their case for giving undocumented students better access to public colleges.

If the vote is postponed for that long would Gov. Christie veto it? Just putting out some encouragement.....

W., don't think they'll wait till Monday... I'm telling you, something "fishy" is going on here... I am thinking they'll vote on this bill tomorrow and this is a "smokescreen" for all who have been calling in today against this piece of legislation... do not think that this "crafty" legislature has something diabolical hidden "up its sleeve"....
It is VERY URGENT that we man the phones and continue to call in ALL TOMORROW -- Make many, many, many, many phone calls ALL DAY LONG TO THE DEMOCRATIC NJ SENATORS ESPECIALLY!!!!! You can BET that the pro-illegal immigrant groups will be DOING THE SAME THING!!!!
DO NOT LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

Vote delayed on bill giving N.J. illegal immigrants in-state tuition
By Statehouse Bureau Staff
January 07, 2010, 9:01PM
Senate leaders postponed a vote on a controversial bill today that would let illegal immigrants pay in-state tuition rates to attend the state’s public universities.
Advocates said the bill lacks the support of several senators needed for passage. They will continue lobbying through the Senate’s next meeting on Monday.
Knowing Gov. Jon Corzine supports the bill and Gov.-elect Chris Christie opposes it, its backers face time pressures with Christie taking office Jan. 19.
The bill passed House and Assembly committees earlier this week. It would make the lower in-state tuition rates — generally about half as high as rates for non-residents — available for illegal immigrants who are state residents and who attended high school in New Jersey for at least three years, received a diploma or equivalency and attest they intend to apply for citizenship if they have not already.
