Five years ago, Ignacio Ramos was pulling long shifts as a senior U.S. Border Patrol agent, chasing smugglers and immigrants along the Rio Grande. He'd coached Little League long enough that dozens of teenagers called him “Coach Nacho.â€

Will be praying hard for him to be cleared.

We all know, if our border agents and officers cannot fo their jobs and protect even us from people like Aldrete, then what chance do we have to protect ourselves and our families?

My heart breaks for these 2 border agents. It's an inconceivable injustice. Johnny Sutton needs to be investigated and prosecuted for prosecutorial misconduct and anything else such an investigation would reveal. I think it's risky business going back for a new trial. I would wait for a Republican President and request a pardon. That's what I would do in this instance. Going back for a new trial under a Democratic pro-immigration US Justice Department is not worth the risk of another set-up, frame-up and who knows what else. I'd just wait and let good Republicans clear their records with the next Republican President.

Bush should be sent to a Soup Line for not giving both these men a full pardon and clearing their records completely, but we thank him earnestly for at least commuting the sentences and setting them free from prison.

And I would say to the employers who have looked at these two men's resumes and discounted them from employment because of their "record" what kind of Americans are you? I'll tell you what kind they are ... they're employers of illegal aliens is what they are. No decent employer that upholds US immigration law is going to refuse to hire these border partrol agents because of this conviction. Try to find out who these employers are and blast their names in the Texas newspapers until they come forward with job offers.
