Man flees after crash that killed his son, 9

Dad held; drunken driving is charged

SAN DIEGO – A father was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early yesterday after fleeing from a freeway crash that killed his 9-year-old son, who was asleep in the front seat.

Alex Muñoz, a third grader at Linda Vista Elementary, died on impact in the 1:30 a.m. crash, authorities said.

The boy's father, Marcos Muñoz Sanchez, 33, was driving the boy home west on Interstate 8 near Texas Street when he slammed into the back of a pickup parked on the shoulder, said the California Highway Patrol.

Muñoz Sanchez, who is in the country illegally and is not a licensed driver, got out and ran, leaving his son in the truck.

Yes sir.....that's that good old family values at work. Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside doesn't it?

This is just beyond me.

Yeah...and ICE is always accused of "tearing families apart". Another example of the hard working, family loving, upstanding illegal immigrant aliens flooding our country.

That's an unbelievable story...it's is exactly what this illegal immigration fight is all about...lack of values. If this man cares so little about his own son, he would care little about the life and property of American citizens.

The culture of Mexico presented to you in a very tragic manner.

How very, very sad for that poor little boy and I mean that sincerely. It's tragic how they treat their children

Here in the Fresno area a couple years ago, there was a lady who was involved in an accident. Instead of calling 911 to help her injured children, she called some friends to stop by and pick up the illegal drugs she was transporting in her car. And yes, she was of the illegal alien race.

I stand corrected.
And yes it is a very sad thing, I have seen many children die in vehicle accidents because their parent was drunk or on drugs or both.
