    * 57% of the unauthorized immigrant population in America (as of 2006) is from Mexico.
I love the correct English in this one. How much do you want to bet this was written by someone who learned English as a second language?

    Pros and cons of deportation

For you immigration nerds out there, here's a Web site you'll just love: Immigration ProCon.org.

The site lays out the pros and cons of key questions and issues surrounding immigration.

Credible experts, politicians, academics and think tanks offer their perspectives in a balanced pro-con debate. It's actually a rather simple and insightful approach.

Some of the questions include: Should illegal aliens, who are parents of U.S. citizen minors, be deported? Are illegal aliens paying their "fair share" of taxes?

Here's the pro-con excerpt on deportation:

PRO: "...deporting aliens is as easy as one, two, three. The next time you hear [U.S. President] George W. Bush or [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Michael Chertoff say how impossible immigration enforcement is, remember this simple formula: one, go to where you know aliens are; two, arrest them; three, deport them. Don't bother asking where aliens hang out. The better question is where aren't they hanging out. Go to a bus stop, a taco truck, a convenience store, the post office or an auto repair shop. No need to round them all up at once. Just arrest one or two every day at different locations around town and the message will soon get out." -- Joe Guzzardi, English teacher at Lodi Adult School in California, "Deportation: As Easy As One, Two, Three," VDare.com, Aug. 19, 2007

CON: "I have listened to and understand the concerns of those who simply advocate sealing our borders and rounding up and deporting undocumented workers currently in residence here. But that's easier said than done... I have yet to hear a single proponent of this point of view offer one realistic proposal for locating, apprehending, and returning to their countries of origin over 11 million people. How do we do that? ...it would take 200,000 buses extending along a 1700 mile long line to deport 11 million people. That's assuming we had the resources to locate and apprehend all 11 million, or even half that number, which we don't have and, we all know, won't ever have." -- John McCain, U.S. Senator (R-AZ), Statement on the Senate floor, March 30, 2006

You assume that those minors are truly US citizens, that may or may not be allowed to stand. There is a valid interpretation of the 14th amendment that does not automatically confer citizenship to the offspring of illegal aliens. That theory has not yet been fully tested in a court of law to my knowledge.

And by the way, here is a news flash to you lefty journos. McCain is NOT considered credible on this issue, quoting him does not help your case.

    Cons- none.

Pros- enforcing the rule of law, protecting America's security, culture and way of life.

Easy decision in my book. Let the deportation begin.

Rorschach is correct. Senator McCain is hardly a credible source on this lssue.

It seems to me these days that Americans of European descent no longer have the legitimate right to a country of their own culture. Like it or not we are forced to adapt to the hispanic one.

Illegal and Legal Immigration issues should be decided by the citizens NOT special interest groups. The truely fair thing to do is allow citizens to VOTE on different aspects of Immigration.IMO

This is OUR country and WE The People were granted,by our constitution, the right to SELF Govern. Not Big Business or Special Interest groups.
"A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson
