WH: Signing Anti-Illegal Immigration Bills Is A Priority

Posted By Alex Pfeiffer On 6:16 PM 06/26/2017

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is looking forward to signing two bills designed to curb illegal immigration, according to White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Spicer said at Monday’s press briefing that the House is expected to vote on both the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act and Kate’s Law at the end of this week.

The No Sanctuary for Criminals Act withholds Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice grants from states and localities that don’t comply with federal immigration detainers. It also protects these localities from lawsuits due to complying with these detainers, while allowing victims of crimes from released illegal immigrants to sue these jurisdictions.

Kate’s Law adds increased punishments for deported illegal immigrants who return back to the United States. It is named after Kate Steinle, whose 2015 murder was allegedly done by a five-time deported illegal immigrant.

Spicer said that these bills are “major priorities for the president,” and that combating illegal immigration is “an issue that should unite all Americans in both major parties.”

Spicer went on to say, “We look forward to signing them both.”

He also added that the bills represent a “major tool in a fight to dismantle the dangerous MS-13 cartel.” The Trump administration has focused on taking apart the transnational street gang based out of El Salvador. The president said at a recent cabinet meeting that the gang will be gone “pretty soon.”

I like this, but Trump has got to start confronting illegal immigration as a basic civic problem and quit selling the idea that it is all about the "bad" illegal immigrants.

Yes, but here's the problem: Congress. The whole issue of the "good ones" versus the "bad ones" comes up with enforcement monies during appropriations. That's where the DACA 2012 Memo originated, in response to that pressure from Congress. ICE has never cared whether you're a criminal or a non-criminal, because our immigration laws don't distinguish. But Congress wants DHS to "prioritize resources" and chastises DHS when they are spending resources arresting and detaining "moms" and "kids" instead of drug dealers and gang-bangers. That's why there's this mantra about the "good" versus the "bad". ICE and BP want them all out regardless of other violations, because that's their jobs, because that's the law.

This whole mess was created by Congress who refuses to adequately fund DHS to get this massive problem stopped and the illegal alien population removed from the country, because Democrats and even a few Republicans think they'll get more Hispanic votes by doing this plus they're on the take with the drug cartels behind illegal immigration. Don't doubt it for a minute.

Exactly! It's about ALL illegal aliens. In my book, they are all bad because they all broke ours laws to begin with by coming here illegally and uninvited.

Hopefully this will be remedied now that the Republicans control both Houses and the Presidency.

Exactly right, 6 Million Dollar Man, and that's how most Americans feel about illegal immigration, good or bad, they need to be gone and depart our nation, because as you say, there really are no "good ones", there's just the ones who are worse than others and I wish our eternally stupid Congresscritters understood that.
