An illegal immigrant was charged today with using the Social Security number of someone who died four decades ago to work at a Sheboygan Falls dairy farm, according to a criminal complaint.

Enrique Guillen-Dominguez, 36, of Sheboygan, could face up to three years in prison on a felony count of identity theft for financial gain.

According to the complaint:

The fake ID came to light Wednesday when Guillen-Dominguez was cited for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign in Plymouth. A Plymouth police officer spotted marijuana flakes in the car, so Guillen-Dominguez and his 20-year-old passenger were arrested.

An ensuing search turned up a Social Security card with a number registered to someone who died in 1971.

Guillen-Dominguez, a Mexican immigrant living at 1212-A Erie Ave., then admitted he bought the card after arriving in the United States and used it to work at A-OK Farm in Sheboygan Falls. He was hired there in December 2009.

Jail officials said Guillen-Dominguez has a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, meaning he is in the country illegally and will likely be deported once the criminal case and any sentence is complete.
