Sept. 5, 2007, 12:30 a.m. - Hispanics have become the favored minority and now outnumber blacks 43 million to 40 million, according to census bureau statistics.

This fact has set up a dynamic between the two groups. Blacks have fought hard for their civil rights and now see many of the things they fought for being usurped by a sizeable number of Hispanics, who have sneaked, swam or otherwise crossed the borders into the U.S. and can be counted among the “illegalâ€

Ms. Johnson is right in everything she wrote in this article. Haitians are not wanted in this country the way Mexicans are. According to some of the powers that be, unlike Mexicans they DON'T DESERVE A BETTER LIFE. It is not right for anyone from another country to come to this country illegally but Hispanics do it and they get the royal treatment. On the other hand Haitians strive for the same goals of a better life for their families and if they are caught, they are shown the way back to Haiti. I do not condone illegal immigration for any foreign nationals but why is it that Hispanics are favored over other people that are foreign people who want a chance to realize the American Dream. A lot of legal American Citizens have not had the chance to realize the American Dream as far as that goes. Our government panders to illegals thinking that if they ever achieve citizenship, that would mean more votes for their political party. This is no way to run a country and it is certainly no way to win votes. What is this country coming to? Those people who are for open borders had better wake up and see how they are tearing this country apart all for the sake for a few more votes. But this just might backfire on them because, a lot of Americans are becoming Independent registered voters.So maybe their illegals to whom they are pandering too may not be enough to get them elected.
