IRONWOOD -- An illegal immigrant was apprehended by the Ironwood Public Safety Department on Tuesday night in Ironwood, according to a 10:40 p.m. Tuesday IPSD report.

The female was reported by a W. Ayer Street resident that wanted her removed from his apartment.

On responding to the call, IPSD officer Adam Clemens found the girl in the bathroom.

Upon checking, Clemens found that she was an illegal alien and was wanted by the Department of Immigration and Naturalization, the report said.

After contacting the DIN in Sault Ste. Marie, the girl was lodged in the Gogebic County jail, until the agency can pick her up, within 48 hours, the report said.
