Mapping America: Every City, Every Block

Have you guys seen this? It is a map of the United State showing different data from the 2010 Census put together by The New York Times.

Put in your zip code for information on your block.

Use the view more maps for things like rent changes or income.

Interesting. I didn't really appreciate how balkanized Southern California was until now.

Now you know why California is bankrupt. And, why they won't get out any time soon. Over several decades of watching what is going on there I never, not once, ever saw a person that became a citizen, ran for office, got elected because they were voted in by their nationality, and do anything other than get programs in that help their nationality and weaken the state financially. And, if you look closely, they don't have that inherent knowledge of who died for those freedoms that we were brought up with. Back when our educational system didn't flinch at the thought of actually teaching out country was founded by people that put their lives on the line for freedom and democracy, not communism and socialism.

I put in my zip code, they obviously didn't do a very good job.....the numbers can not possibly be right. I think they missed a few thousand hispanics.

I grew up in so ca, in Ontario, and when I went to high school, in the 60"s, there were over three thousand kids at my school. Of the student population, there were, maybe, a handful of blacks, 100 spanish accented mexicans, 100 American mexicans that came up from the south side of town, I can't remember if there were any asians and the rest white. Now, my grandkids go to the same school and there are mexicans, then blacks, then whites, and you have to search high and low to find them. I have nothing against hispanics or blacks, however, I miss the way my country use to look.

It is really cool for the San Francisco bay area.

If you change the scale just right you can see the grouping of nationalities, or rent averages, or income levels. Lot of other data sets too.

    32% white where I'm at.

I'll bet also the way it used to be. It was something to be proud of back then. Even the wars(WW2) seemed honest.

We've lost it all while we slept it seems.

    Maybe it isn't right.
Another attempt to convince us we might as well roll over and be done with it.
