It also says on there that Sen. Mel Martinez (one of the 2 pro illegal senators for Florida) is opposed to amnesty. This is a new one on me. Wasn't he co-author of another amnesty bill put up by the senate?

    Mel Martinez

I'm in his territory and don't believe it! He's from Cuba, came here as a child and certainly became successful. He's also, extremely intelligent and SMOOTH. Let me see what I can find in the local media. Will come back to this thread if I find anything.

Yes he's for it. Only thing is, he does want border security, and he says he wants that bio tech where they can track the guest workers where ever they go.

Thanks curiouspat. I have been looking and unable to find out anything where he supposedly changed his mind. I just do not see that happening. If I find anything I will come back also and let you know.

    Senator Mel Martinez

I can't find anything yet, except vague references to Rep. and Dem. Senators being appointed to the committee. It's as if the entire news release organization is shut down.

He is pro a 'pathway' type program, can't find anything new. As I said he's slick. Don't discount his contacts. Cubans as a group are ridiculously politically powerful. Big contributions. And if you disagree with the 'Cuban Connection" down here...wow. The roof falls in.

They seem to have forgotten that Castro is a dictator...there is no free speech in Cuba, they say they love this country and it's freedoms, many refuse to learn/speak English, you should the Cuban flags (a Communiost flag) flying...yet Cubans (or anyone else) who disagree, get shut down fast.
