I just voted and there are only a total of 23 votes. That's the dumbest poll I've ever done.

I'm not sure what I'm being asked to agree or disagree with.
Do I agree that the guy will lay low waiting for our own government to screw us over to give him preferential treatment? Yes, I agree that he will.
Do I agree that it should be that way? No, I don't.
Do I believe he should be here? No I don't.
Do I believe the news reporter who interviewed him should be arrested for harboring a fugitive? Yes, I do. I know, nobody asked that. But I can't figure out for the life of me that if the news can find all these illegals why the government can't. And I can't figure out why it isn't harboring a fugitive when someone KNOWS FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAIN someone is illegal and doesn't turn them in. To me, that is un-American and should neither go unnoticed or unpunished.
Law enforcement won't even look into reports of suspected illegals yet news reporters know and don't do a damn thing about it. Makes me sick. Junius...you raise a good point, but it's the result of the Shield Law and protects reporters and anonymous sources on the basis that they might not find the news without this ability to keep sources confidential.
It's how reporters are able to meet with people like Osama bin Laden and not disclose his whereabouts. I saw that interview years ago in the caves....and thought oh good....SURELY the CIA is tailing them.
But apparently they weren't.

And, that raises yet another good debate topic. SHOULD reporters be forced to reveal sources??? My position is NO. A resounding NO. If it hadn't been for the MEDIA, who takes the brunt of a LOT of criticism, we would NEVER have been able to learn what our leaders have done to us.
Is it POSSIBLE that the media is able to FIND these people because they are COMMITTED where our government is NOT??"POWER TENDS TO CORRUPT AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY." Sir John Dalberg-Acton

I agree it's a vicious circle. But I also wonder just exactly how much of the news the media makes up to have a story.
I can't figure out why if the media can find all these illegals and put them on the news the gov't can't go right around behind them with a great big net and catch them, either.

I still say it's because DHS and ICE are POORLY RUN, bureaucratic SNAFU's and they either don't have the means or they don't have the will.

That could well be. Anything the gov't has a hand in seems to get fouled up somehow.
