ANCHOR BABIES IS NOT HATE SPEECH. ILLEGALS DONT LIKE THE TERM, BECAUSE IT HITS THE NAIL ON THE HEAD AND PERFECTLY EXPOSES THE SCAM. THEY DONT LIKE THIS PRACTICE BEING SPOTLIGHTED. OK SO NOW I WILL GO AND VOTE.

Don't try to make it politically correct either, I have had political correctness up to my eyeballs.

Letters to the Editor - 9/2/2007

By: Readers of the North County Times and Californian -

Who gets to determine what is racist?

The North County Times has reached a new low. This week (Aug. 2 they have taken a poll to ask the general public whether or not they think the term "anchor baby" is a racial slur. If the question should be asked at all, it should be asked of the people to whom these ugly words are aimed.

Does the average Euro-American find this term offensive? Why would they? It was not constructed to demean their humanity. It was constructed to diminish ours. What is the implication here? Because of this unscientific poll, Mexican-Americans should not be insulted? That is the ultimate form of paternalism.

Now we are being told what is and is not offensive to us. It seems we are not even being given credit for having the intelligence for knowing what we ourselves find demeaning. The only conclusion one can draw from such a ridiculous exercise is that the North County Times is suggesting that people outside our community now know better than Mexican-Americans what is and is not insulting. ...

If the North County Times is looking for absolution for their editorial support of the rising tide of racism and hate in our North County communities they have not found it. Maybe we should take a poll and see how many people think the term "hacks" should be insulting to the editors and some reporters at the North County Times?
