Methinks this poll is a trick. By law, no other flag can fly higher than the US flag.

    (c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the
same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America,
except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when
the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services
for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the
United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above,
or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the
flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any
Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section
shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed
of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior
prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal
prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the
    headquarters of the United Nations.

Reno police, ACLU join flap over Mexican flag

    ASSOCIATED PRESS

    5:38 p.m. October 3, 2007

RENO, Nev. – Responding to a controversy over a Mexican flag flying at a local bar, Reno police and the American Civil Liberties Union issued statements Wednesday emphasizing it is not illegal to fly another flag above the American flag.

A Reno television station broadcast a story on Monday of a U.S. veteran, Jim Broussard, cutting down the U.S. flag flying above the bar and taking it away in protest of what the station reported was an illegal display of the flag.

“I took this flag down in honor of my country with a knife from the U.S. Army,â€

Ok lets just set the record straight in June 22, 1942 U.S. Congress passed a joint resolution which was amended on December 22, 1942 to become Public Law 829; Chapter 806, 77th Congress, 2nd session. Exact rules for use and display of the flag (36 U.S.C. 173-17 this code is the guide for all handling and display of the U. S. Flag. It does not impose penalties for misuse of the United States Flag. That is left to the states and to the federal government for the District of Columbia. Each state has its own flag law.

So a quick search of the Nevada Revised Statues clearly shows that anyone who defames, slanders or speaks evilly of the U, S, Flag is guilty of a misdemeanor and in-case the Reno Police forgot that's a punishable crime.

    NRS 201.290 Penalty
    1. Any person who, in any manner, for exhibition or display, defames, slanders, or speaks evilly or in a contemptuous manner of or otherwise defaces or defiles any flag of the United States, or state flag of this State, or ensign, which are public or private property, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.

My husband would disagree and say that the only acceptable flag would be a 49ers flag. Then again, he is from Ireland, what does he know? lololol
