Ron Paul Wins Nevada Republican Assembly Straw Poll

Ron Paul Wins Nevada Republican Assembly Straw Poll
    Mon Jan 7, 2008
.RENO, Nev.--(Business Wire)--On Saturday, Republican presidential candidate and Texas
Congressman Ron Paul won the Nevada Republican Assembly's Straw Poll
    with 39 percent.

Dr. Paul had more than double the support of John McCain who
received second place with 15 percent of the straw poll vote. Over
ninety people voted in the poll, which was held on Saturday afternoon
on the second day of the Nevada Republican Assembly's Presidential
Endorsing Convention. The straw poll was open to the public.

"Ron Paul supporters showed their dedication by coming out to vote
in the middle of a snow storm," said Jennifer Terhune, a Nevada-based
spokeswoman for the Ron Paul campaign. "Dr. Paul's message of freedom,
peace and prosperity is resonating with Nevadans."

The Ron Paul campaign has over two hundred and thirty registered
volunteers in the Reno area, as well as over six hundred in Las Vegas.

Ron Paul has had other recent straw poll victories in northern
Nevada. He won the Conservative Leadership Conference straw poll last
October with 32% of the vote, and a Washoe County Republican Party
straw poll in the same month with an overwhelming 41% of support from
    local Republicans.

Straw polls of 90 people mean what?

Neveda like most western states are showing overwhelmingly strong
    for Romney

Lots of mormons out west here

But Paul does have a strong showing because he is promising
casino workers he will stop the IRS from taking their tips

Another promise he would have no power to keep

    LOL
ROTFLOL Na I plan and out right lost it over that one

I have often wondered about the sayings of Ron Paul and his use of the constitution was a meaning of he would amend it (the constitution) as many times and places to suit him and his Ideas…

I don't know what it means... perhaps it means nothing, or perhaps it means that Ron Paul got ten times the votes as Romeny. I guess you can find an angle to look at this, depending on your view.

Politicians can promise you the moon , and most of them do

But you have to look at what powers they actually have to keep
    those promises

Like Ron Paul and hes ga ga supporters that say he will end birthright citizenship

He has no more power to change that then he has to send a man to mars

Wait ....... he might have the power to actually do that

Just look at what this President has done to the country in 7 years and tell me a President has no power.

If the PResident has no power - then it makes no difference who is elected and why are we all here talking about it?

    =

Making amendments when necessary is exactly the way the constitution works. That's totally constitutional.

For years, we have had polticians that simply ignore the constitution and circumvent it any way they choose. Now someone says we should be doing this as set out in the constitution - and now somehow that's wrong.

Let's pray that Romney does not win Nevada and the Western states. He'll perhaps secure the borders a bit better than they are now and go after a few employers of illegal aliens, but he'll be just like the rest and, in time, offer some form of permanent residency to the majority of illegal aliens.

Go Ron Paul! Go Duncan Hunter!

1 2 3 OK I have counted and held my tongue with your name calling.

What makes you so arrogant usanevada, is it that magic Mormon underwear that you have to wear.

    Knock off the name calling.

You are making more enemies here than you are converting.

Only if it can be found in the Constitution of the United States of America.
or maybe in one of Ron Paul’s Many Bills that’s passed and become law.
    Oh wait
Did he ever have one ?

Ron Paul does so well in the straw polls, but thats it. What does it really mean?
Someone had post on here a few weeks ago that showed Paul winning in straw polls in most states, and had high rates of international support as well.
So what is the problem? He was supposed to be leading in Iowa too, but only got 10% of the vote.
    I guess I am confused.
