I just got a call from the AJC telling me that they'll be printing my letter about this article on Saturday.

    Here's what I wrote...

Re: Is $10,000 fine too costly for a green card?
The article by Mr. Feagans said of illegal aliens, "Many harvest onions, hang Sheetrock or spread pine straw for less than $10 an hour."

I'm an American citizen and father that watched as his wages for hanging Sheetrock dropped 45% in the last 15 years, while prices rose by that same percentage. It finally got so bad that I started my own business, 'The Pinestraw Guys'.

Now, illegal labor is driving me out of THAT business, as well, because I refuse to break the law and hire illegal workers, perpetuating the problem.

Americans need to realize that EVERY job being done by illegal aliens USED to be done by Americans, at a livable wage. Yet none of those savings have been realized by the consumer, they've only translated into bigger profits for the companies that break the law to employ them.

What will you do when they come for YOUR job?

Good for you PinestrawGuys. I am sorry your business has to suffer because of these illegals. Good letter, and to the point. No one should have to take a loss because of illegal aliens.
