    The Daily Caller
    February 18, 2013

'A tenured professor who forced her students to sign pledges that they would vote for President Obama last November should be fired, the college’s president recommended.

Sharon Sweet, an associate professor of mathematics at Brevard Community College in Florida, is guilty of electioneering, harassment, and incompetence, according to a three-month investigation into her classroom behavior leading up to the November election. The Board of Trustees will hold a hearing on the matter, and then vote on whether to adopt President James Richey’s recommendation that Sweet be fired.
    ...
“Professor Sweet strongly encouraged or mandated that students from several classes sign a pledge card that stated, ‘I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.’ She also misrepresented her intentions to multiple students, indicating at various times that she was conducting voter registration for the college, that the pledge cards were non-partisan voter registration forms, and that the pledge was a ‘statistical analysis.’”

...[M]any feared their grades would be affected if they did not sign the pledge. She remains on paid leave until the board votes to fire her.'

Brings back October 2012 memories of the amazing high school student, Samantha Pawlucy, who wore a pink Romney/Ryan t-shirt to school. For doing so, she was cruelly berated and humiliated in front of her class - by her teacher. Samantha was lectured, told to remove the shirt, informed that her t-shirt was like a Ku Klux Klan sheet, and was kicked out of her class. Then, her fellow students turned on her for not supporting Obama. (Gov. Romney called her family and expressed his appreciation for her courage.): http://bit.ly/QR3tgT and Philly teen who says she was mocked by teacher for wearing Romney T-shirt sues school district | Fox News .

During the course of the 2012 presidential election, how many other similar incidents occurred?

Regarding Professor Sharon Sweet, we hope the Brevard Community College Board of Trustees will adopt President James Richey’s recommendation that she be fired.

    That would be SWEET.

College fires professor who forced students to sign pledge to vote for Obama

By Oliver Darcy, on Apr 17, 2013

Brevard Community College (BCC) has fired a professor after a school investigation concluded she required students to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the run-up to the 2012 election.

Brevard Community College has fired Professor Sharon Sweet who forced her students to sign this pledge.

The school’s spokesman John Glisch, said the Board of Trustees voted Wednesday morning to terminate mathematics professor Sharon Sweet with an overwhelming vote.

“The board voted 3-1, with one member absent, to dismiss professor Sweet,” Glisch told Campus Reform Wednesday afternoon.

“The termination took effect immediately, ending pay and benefits for Sweet who had been suspended with pay under provisions of the United Faculty of Florida collective bargaining agreement with the college, pending the board’s decision,” the school added in a press release.

BCC was hurled into the national spotlight last year for Sweet’s actions after a Campus Reform exposé highlighted her alleged demand for students to support the Democratic Party in the 2012 elections.

The school’s president later recommended to the Board of Trustees that professor Sweet should be fired, following an investigation that found her guilty of “harassment, incompetence, misconduct, and unprofessional behavior.”

Sweet was a tenured professor who had taught at the college five years. She earned $40,000 annually.
