  (CNN) —At least two students were injured Friday at a Philadelphia high school after shots were reportedly fired from outside through a school window, a fire department representative told CNN.
• The students were being transported from Delaware Valley Charter High School to Einstein Medical Center with unknown injuries, authorities said.
  
• "We do not have an active shooter situation," said Philadelphia police spokeswoman Jillian Russell.
  
• It was the second shooting at or near a school this week.
  
• In New Mexico on Tuesday, a 12-year-old student with a sawed off, 20-gauge pump shotgun opened fire in a crowded gymnasium at Berrendo Middle School, according to authorities. Two students were seriously injured and the shooter was in custody.

Two students were shot and wounded by a classmate Friday afternoon inside a Philadelphia high school, police reported.

The pair, a boy and a girl, were shot with a handgun in the gymnasium about 3:30 p.m. at the Delaware Valley Charter High School in the Olney section of North Philadelphia.

Police Lt. John Stanford said at a news briefing that each victim was hit once in an arm. They were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, two blocks away, and are listed in stable condition. One reportedly is 15 years old and the other 16.

The suspect, a student at the school, was apprehended about an hour later several miles away in South Philadelphia, near his home, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told reporters.

Security cameras recorded the suspect pulling out a gun and opening fire, but Ramsey said it was not yet clear whether the shooting was intentional or accidental. Seven students were in the gym at the time.

The school, for grades 9 through 12, was placed on lockdown. The 600 students were being searched and released individually. Police initially believed the shooter was still inside the school but said later he had fled, prompting a search by officers and SWAT teams.

The school is equipped with metal detectors, and police and school officials are trying to determine how the suspect got the gun inside.

(CNN) -- A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a juvenile suspect in a shooting that wounded two students at a Philadelphia school Friday, police said Saturday.

The shooting occurred at Delaware Valley Charter High School.

The suspect is not in custody, but police expected him, accompanied by an attorney, to turn himself in Saturday.

Detective Don Suchinsky said Saturday that a second male held for questioning was released to his mother. Another juvenile was questioned and released Friday.
