(NewsCore) - A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck Monday near Leeds, England, the US Geological Survey reported.

It said the quake struck shortly after 9 pm local time about 45 kilometers (30 miles north) of Sheffield, 55 kilometers east-northeast of Manchester and 270 kilometers north-northwest of London at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Sky News reported it was felt by people living in Cumbria, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

The tremor was the second to hit England in the space of a few weeks. Last month, the British Geological Survey reported an earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hit in Coniston in the Lake District, Sky said.
