Three Men Sentenced for Conspiracy to Use Fake Diplomatic Identification

KANSAS CITY, MO—Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that three men with connections to the sovereign citizen movement were sentenced in federal court today for participating in a conspiracy to use fraudulent diplomatic credentials.

David L. Robinson, 67, of Lawrence, Kansas; Daniel W. Denham, 51, of Kingsville, Missouri; and Larry P. Goodyke, 53, of Henderson, Nevada, were sentenced in separate appearances before U.S. District Judge Dean Whipple. Robinson was sentenced to six years and three months in federal prison without parole. Denham and Goodyke were each sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole.

The three co-defendants were involved in various sovereign citizen groups that reject governmental authority and claim that most branches of the federal government are illegitimate entities. They were convicted by a federal jury on Aug. 31, 2009.

Evidence presented during the trial indicated that Robinson, Denham and Goodyke participated in a conspiracy to use, as well as to buy and sell, fraudulent diplomatic identification cards beginning sometime prior to July 11, 2006, until Oct. 18, 2007. A good example of people doing things the wrong way. Also a good example of what people will do when theyhave had enough of the intrusions that are now a part of everyday life.

And some people were gullible enough to give the $2,000 to be part of this.

I know. Sad. But it's a sign of enormous frustration with the almost claustrophobic involvement of our government in our lives. Every day it seems there is something to do in response to a government requirement. It's too much. It's stifling and suffocating, snuffing if you will, the very concept of freedom and feeling .. free.

It's one of the reasons I so adamantly support the FairTax which removes that stifling 77,000 pages of government requirements off our backs. Then if we move the FairTax on to state and local governments on those levels as well, then all that crap would be off our backs. There's much more to do, but that's a big load that's very easy and simple to accomplish, doesn't cost a dime to implement and actually saves us alot of money in compliance and collection costs. And since under the FairTax, people will have more of their net expendable income they worked for to sustain themselves, it will also reduce the size of entitlements and further reduce the cost and intrusion of government into our lives. And because businesses will have all the money they worked so hard and risked so much to earn, they will have more money to invest in new plants, new production, new ideas, new innovations that make our lives even easier and better, and if the products are made in America, they will be well-made, operate perfectly right out of the box and reduce all the frustration associated with poor quality imports you have to take back or discard and shopping and buying new stuff will actually be fun again like it used to be.

Then we need to look at all our other laws and get rid of all those that don't do anything of any consequence and strip those off the books as well. Then pretty soon, people will start to feel free again and be happier, think more clearly, perform better and everyone will be in the frame of mind to start solving problems on their own instead of creating them through government.
