Protect Private Property Against Supreme Court's Decision!
Tell Congress to Restore Our Rights NOW!

ALERT: As you probably remember, the Supreme Court made a decision last year to allow city governments to take land from one private owner and give it to another. In "Kelo vs. City of New London", five Justices (led by David Souter) ruled that "eminent domain" allows any local government to TAKE anyone's private property if the government will generate greater tax revenue -- or any other economic benefits -- when the land is developed by the new owner.

Thank goodness, someone in Congress has moved to counter this dictatorial and ANTI-constitutional decision by the Supreme Court -- but WE have to make sure this effort passes TODAY!

U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) has introduced legislation to defend Americans' right to own and enjoy private property without the threat of federally funded eminent domain seizures. Inhofe's "Private Property Rights Protection Act" (S. 3873) proposes that in any state receiving federal funds for economic development where a locality within that state exercises its power of eminent domain for economic development purposes, then that state shall be ineligible for federal economic development funds for two fiscal years.

There are three issues addressed by this bill. First, this legislation aims to protect the right to own and enjoy private property, one of our government's core purposes. Second, the bill directly confronts the Supreme Court's decision in Kelo v. City of New London, Connecticut, which allows local governments to take private property for economic reasons. Finally, the bill forces the Court to reign in its incessant judicial activism, returning to the true intent of the Fifth Amendment. In sum, the bill limits government intervention into the private market.

Inhofe's legislation mirrors the eminent domain legislation (H.R. 412 introduced by Reps. Sensenbrenner, Conyers and Waters which passed the House of Representatives (376-3 last November.

Since that time, the legislation has been DEAD in the Senate. It's time to correct this injustice, once and for all -- but we need to FLOOD Congress NOW with messages of support for this legislation, so that it can move to the President's desk right away.

TAKE ACTION: The Senate is debating right now whether your home or church can be confiscated for private economic development by the government. Senators have brought S. 3873 to the floor of the U.S. Senate this week to address this very issue. Due to arcane Senate rules, just one Senator can stop the measure in its tracks -- which is why it is URGENT that your Senators hear from you NOW about the importance of preserving "The American Dream."

Once again, the judiciary is tyrannical and OUT OF CONTROL. We've GOT to take action to stop them -- It is CRITICAL that you ACT TODAY! If we can FLOOD the offices of all our Congressmen and Senators with TENS OF THOUSANDS of messages, telling them to QUICKLY pass this legislation, we CAN stop this dangerous Supreme Court ruling dead in its tracks. But we need YOUR help. PLEASE Click "Go!" NOW to send a FREE message to both of your Senators, asking them to support "Private Property Rights Protection Act" (S. 3873).

NOTE: As Sen. Inhofe stated when he introduced this bill, "I believe in the right to own private property, and I believe in the right to enjoy it and not be harassed, especially by the government." We ALL believe that! Be sure to send this Alert to EVERYONE you know who wants to help RESTORE the private property rights that the Supreme Court took away! Thank you!
