Chattanooga Shooting Suspect Dead: Shooter Shot Four U.S. Marines, One Tennessee Cop
Witnesses say at least one Chattanooga shooting suspect fired from a silver Ford Mustang using a high-powered rifle. They told police that a man pulled into the parking lot of a U.S. military recruitment center on Aminicola Highway but then sped away to Bradley County, where another recruiting center is located at a mall. It is believed the shooter shot at least four U.S. Marines and one police officer, and witnesses claim to have seen a total of three ambulances, two with police escorts, going to Erlanger Hospital. The latest reports also say the Chattanooga shooting suspect is dead.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, Dylann Storm Roof’s charges include nince counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
The Chattanooga shootings have shut down large parts of the Tennessee city, but so far police say there is no indication that the events are part of a terrorist attack.
Marilyn Hutcheson, who works across the street from the U.S. Naval Reserve building on Amnicola Highway, says she heard a barrage of gunfire. The gunfire continued as the entire area was put on lockdown.
“I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many,” she said.
“It was rapid fire, like pow pow pow pow pow, so quickly. The next thing I knew, there were police cars coming from every direction. We’re apprehensive. Not knowing what transpired, if it was a grievance or terroristic related, we just don’t know.”
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke earlier said it is possible the Chattanooga shooting suspect is down.
“This is a very, very terrible situation,” he said. “I’m very concerned about what’s going on. We need to figure out how to handle it.”
So far, reports from the Associated Press claim the Chattanooga shooting victims include “at least two Marines and a police officer have been shot in Chattanooga, Tennessee. No confirmed word yet on their conditions.” Another early report from CBS claims the Chattanooga shooting suspect is dead and that only two U.S. Marines were shot.
Police have not yet identified the Chattanooga shooting suspect’s name although we will update this report once it is known.

NOW PLAYINGOfficials: 5 victims in Chattanooga shootings
BREAKING NEWS: Four Marines were reportedly killed Thursday in one of two attacks at U.S. Navy facilities in Chattanooga, Tenn., and at least one shooter was dead.
The Marines were killed by a gunman who opened fire at a Naval Reserves Operations Center on Amnicola Highway, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Marilyn Hutcheson, who works at Binswanger Glass just across the street from the Naval Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway, said she heard a barrage of gunfire around 11 a.m."It was rapid fire, like pow pow pow pow pow, so quickly"- Marilyn Hutcheson, a witness
"I couldn't even begin to tell you how many," she said. "It was rapid fire, like pow pow pow pow pow, so quickly. The next thing I knew, there were police cars coming from every direction."
The names of the Marines who were reportedly shot were not immediately released, and government officials did not confirm the report.
The shooting there came around the same time that a gunman in a silver Mustang opened fire at a Navy recruiting office in a strip mall some seven miles away, on Lee's Highway. The shooter stopped in front of the recruiting facility, shot at the building and drove off, said Brian Lepley, a spokesman with the U.S. Army Recruiting Command in Fort Knox, Ky.
Lepley said the recruiting center on Old Lee Highway has recruiting services for all four branches of the military. The Army recruiters told Lepley they have evacuated and are safe. He has no information about recruiters for the other branches.
It was not immediately known if the shootings were related, or what prompted them.

I imagine it was our greed for oil that took us to the middle east. However, Eisenhower told us 59 or so years ago to stay out of middle east affairs. I guess that would now have to be filed under "warnings from old timers we ignored."

Reports: Chattanooga gunman was Kuwaiti born, but spent formative years in U.S.
Published July 16, 2015 FoxNews.com
A picture is slowly coming into focus of the man who police say shot and killed four U.S. Marines during two attacks in Chattanooga, Tenn., but his full background and motive remained a mystery late Thursday afternoon.
“While it would be premature to speculate on the motives of the shooter at this time, we will conduct a thorough investigation of this tragedy and provide updates as they are available," an FBI official told Fox News, hours after the deadly attack.
Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, who records show was born in Kuwait, was shot and killed by police after he allegedly attacked the Marines at the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center around 11 a.m. Thursday.
Before attacking the military center, police say Abdulazeez sprayed an Armed Forces recruiting center seven miles away with bullets, leaving a police officer with a non-life threatening ankle wound.
A law enforcement source told Fox News that Abdulazeez was not on the FBI’s radar.
However, Bill Killian, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, told reporters earlier that investigators "are treating this as an act of domestic terrorism.”
But who was Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez? According to a senior U.S. official, he was born in Kuwait in 1990. It is not clear, yet, whether he is a U.S. or Kuwaiti citizen. Fox News confirmed that his parents lived just across the river from Chattanooga in Hixson, Tenn., and that they have owned a house in that residential neighborhood since 2001.
The local Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that Abdulazeez graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 2012. Before that, he graduated from Red Bank High School with a yearbook photo featuring the quote, “My name causes national security alerts.
What does yours do?” Photos of the yearbook photo were sent to the newspaper, which also reported that he was arrested for driving under the influence on April 20 of this year.
In a statement, Travis Brickey of the Tennessee Valley Authority, said Abdulazeez was a student intern "approximately five years ago."
"As a member of the Chattanooga community our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims," Brickey said.
The paper also reported that Abdulazeez's father, Youssuf Abdullazeez, was appointed as a "special policeman" for Chattanooga's Department of Public Works in March 2005. Residents and students who knew the 24-year-old suspect said he was a quiet kid, but well-liked.
"He was friendly, funny, kind," Kagan Wagner told the paper. "I never would have thought it would would be him."
