ONTARIO, Calif. — An Idaho man has been arrested after a Southern California airport security screener found a loaded gun in the traveler's carry-on bag.

Ontario International Airport police Sgt. Belinda Nettles tells the San Bernardino County Sun ( http://bit.ly/qrtY5G ) that 69-year-old Thomas Joseph Fees was arrested in Terminal 2 at about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday. His hometown in Idaho hasn't been disclosed.

Airport police were contacted after Transportation Security Administration officers discovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver in his carry-on bag during the x-ray screening process.

Fee, who planned to board a Denver-bound flight, has been booked at the Rancho Cucamonga jail for investigation of carrying a loaded firearm.

Last month, an Ontario TSA officer discovered a loaded 9 mm gun in his carry-on bag.

Unloaded firearms are allowed in checked baggage.
