Thread: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will apologize to Duke?

Now that the NC Attorney General, Roy Cooper, has announced that not only will the charges be dropped against the Duke lacrosse players and that they are INNOCENT.

Should I hold my breath to hear Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's apologies? Didn't they criticize Duke and the players? Didn't they say this was a matter of racial biases in the system? Didn't Jesse Jackson offer to pay for the alleged 'victim', which turned out to be the victimizer, to go to college?

Am I wrong here? Will Jackson and Sharpton apologize?

I don't think Sharpton will apologize. He took people on the Tawana Brawley joy ride and never apologized over that.

I don't think so! They both just like making trouble.

I don't think they will but they should apologize. You are presumed innocent before you go to trial in America. I agree with Kate. They never apologized for Tawana Brawley and they should have apologized.

I also think they should release the woman's name who accused them. She should have chargers pressed.

The only good that has come out is to expose the corruption with checks and balances of the district attorneys office. Nifong should be disbarred as well.

I'm not familiar with the Tawan Brawley case. What was the deal there?

Here is some info. on the Tawana Brawley case. A 15 year old black girl from Whappingers Falls, NY accused 6 white men of raping her.

I remember it well. My cousins lived up in Wappingers Falls when it happened. In the end it was a hoax.

Tawana Brawley (born 1972) is a black woman who received national attention in the U.S. when she was 15 years old for her claim that she was raped by six white men, some of them police officers, in the village of Wappingers Falls, New York. The alleged incident soon became a media sensation, championed by Reverend Al Sharpton and by attorneys Alton H. Maddox and C. Vernon Mason. There were no indictments in an investigation conducted by a grand jury in October 1988, who cited a lack of evidence, concluding she had not been abducted, assaulted, raped or sodomized

Sharpton doesn't apologise. He just points the finger right or wrong.

I don't recall Jackson's ever apologizing for calling New York "Hymie town" either. All he did was make some lame excuses. He even had another opportunity to apologize when he was being interviewed by Meredith Viera about the recent Don Imus dust-up. She asked him if Imus' ill-advised comments weren't similar to his own comments in the 1996 election, at which point he dissembled and claimed that it was a different scenario. Different? Yeah, in one case it was the santmonious Jessie Jackson and in the other case it was someone he chose to take to task. These clowns are arch-hypocrites. I can't imagine why anyone still gives either Jackson or Sharpton the time of day, and I refuse to refer to either of the cheap hucksters as "Reverend," as doing so would be a gross affront to Christianity.
