Alamogordo police post heroin bust

ALAMOGORDO -- Police arrested three people and recovered black tar heroin, cash and more from a residence after serving a search warrant last Friday.
A news release issued Monday by the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety reports DPS and the New Mexico State Police Criminal Investigation Unit served a search warrant for controlled substances at No. 503 Oasis Mobile Home Park, 2800 Lawrence Blvd., at noon Friday.

The search netted police a half gram of marijuana, $3,699 in U.S. currency, a digital weighing scale, numerous syringes and about 18 grams of black tar heroin, according to the release.

Police arrested Francisco Javier Carbajal, 51, of 2800 Lawrence Blvd. No. 503; Katina Jo Biswell, 51, of No. 511 in the same mobile home park; and Jesus Gabriel Carbajal, 20, of No. 503, according to the release.

Biswell and Francisco Carbajal were each charged with trafficking heroin by possession with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony; conspiracy to traffic heroin by possession with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of forfeitable property, a civil matter, according to police.

Carbajal was released on $36,000 unsecured bond pending his appearance in Magistrate Court June 9, and Biswell was jailed at the Otero County Detention Facility on $36,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed, pending her Magistrate Court appearance.

Jesus Carbajal, according to police, was charged with possession of



less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed at OCDC on $15,000 bond, with no 10 percent allowed, pending his appearance in Magistrate Court, and other charges are pending against him.
