ALERT: GOVT. TO DECIDE WHAT'S BEST FOR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS???

My sister just emailed me this. It was posted by a mother of an autistic son on another forum:

    September 21, 2012
Urgent Alert from Michael Farris of ParentalRights.org:

Last night around 9:45, Senators Durbin (D-IL) and Harkin (D-IA) tried to get the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ratified on the Senate floor in a maneuver that can only be called a sneak attack.

Without notice, they asked for Unanimous Consent to ratify the treaty immediately. If an alert Senator who opposes the treaty had not been present, they would have likely succeeded.

Fortunately, Senator Mike Lee (R) of Utah was present and objected, stalling it for today.

Treaty proponents are likely to keep trying sneak attacks.

PLEASE CALL BOTH OF YOUR U.S. SENATORS TODAY – RIGHT NOW! Tell them--Vote NO on this treaty and stop the sneak attacks. If their intentions are honorable, they can put it on the calendar and let all of America know what they are doing in advance.

Sneak attacks are never for an honorable purpose.

This treaty will allow the government to decide what it thinks is best for every child that it deems to have a disability or special needs. While the call today is to stand up for families who are in this position, in reality we are defending against an attack on every family in America.

    Michael Farris
    President

    Action Items

Please call both of your U.S. Senators and deliver the following message in your own words:

“I urge you to oppose the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected U.N. bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect disabled Americans. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families. If the Senate ratifies this treaty, it would be the first time ever that the U.S. has ratified a treaty that obligates us to recognize economic, social, and cultural entitlements as rights under domestic law.”

Then, forward this email to your family and friends and urge them to call, too.
Find your senators’ D.C. office numbers by clicking on your state on our States page.
Thank you for standing with us today to halt this dangerous treaty.

    Sincerely,
    Michael Ramey
    Director of Communications & Research
