    Is anyone reading HR 3200??

I am tired of all of this discussion and dems saying this is not in the bill and republicans saying this IS in the bill. I have an online copy of HR 3200 dated July 14. I am busy like all of you guys but I am going to start reading this thing as I can and was wondering who is reading it and who would like to read it with me.

Also, do they update and revise this thing as they go? I want to make sure I am reading the latest copy.

    Thanks for any input.

Also, one of the main reasons I am reading this is I DO NOT want ILLEGALS covered but have heard many times where they will be. I am so tired of this so called government shoving things down our throats!!!!!

I'll read it. I was reading another book. From the book I am reading it says the spoken words and works last longer than the written. We must keep on talking...

    Thank you for the invitation!

I have read most of it, especially the parts that would affect me. Part of the confusion is that the Senate is working on multiple drafts which differ considerably from the House bill. The so-called bi-partisan Senate bill, for example, leaves out some of the worst parts of the House bill, such as end of life counseling, panels which determine levels of care based on age, etc., and leaves out the public option altogether. At least this is what they tell us since they have not finalized the draft and no copies are yet available. At Clair McCaskill's townhall in Missouri this was part of the confusion: she is a senator and was talking to the Senate approach while many attendees were quoting HR 3200 and complaining about its details. This is probably good, because if the Senate understands that the House bill really stinks, they will focus on cost reductions and private insurance and, I hope, keep the government out of direct participation.

There are actually 3 House bills although the one that get the most ink is HR3200 -- but 2 other committess have had hearings on their version of the bill bills too - one being the Finance committe. But the basic house bill is HR3200. There is also HR15 and some other bills aimed at changed in Medicare etc. The idea is that the House will merge these bills into HR3200

The Senate has 2 bills - one is not out of committe and the other you can read at http://help.senate.gov/BAI09A84_xml.pdf. This is from Sen. Dodd Committe and has no bill number but it is the bill which Sen. Dodd and Kennedy support. The one everyone is waiting on is from the Finanace committe and we won't see that before September.

Reading HR 3200 will not give you up to date info, just raise your blood pressure.

Scanning it might be a good idea but I think waiting to scrutinize a final bill might be the best approach.

I believe we do need some reform but NOT a Gov. run plan. The Senate is considering a Not For Profit Co-Op approach instead of Gov. Run Ins..I really think this will be in the final bill and one I think is reasonable.

We must watch closely to make sure Citizenshp must be checked to get insurance on any Taxpayer Plans such as Medicaid..

While we need some type of control over cost all this bill will do is give government more control over us, simply about money and control, Ronald Regan said government health care is the first step into socialism.

Isnt it arrogant for a president in a "townhall meeting" to state we won't take your doctor from you and you can chose your own plan, I did not know that goverment was for that purpose or should tell us what medical treatment to use, while perhaps I'm wrong but I would have sworn we were still free.

I've read parts of it. Or should I say enough of it to know I don't want any part of it and that it's Socialized Control the masses Crap.

What I do know, is no where, repeat no where dose it wholly or expressly exclude foreign nationals from participating. The only thing it denies them is "affordability credits".

    same here.
i want to know why it does not address the high cost of medicine and why its not getting insurance and pharmacy companies finding ways to lower costs because we all know that aspirin in a hospital costs like 8-10 dollars.

talk show host in houston that also owns a restaurant tells a story of his working slicing open his hand and going to the hospital, getting one x ray and 5 stitches. cost 2600. he refused to pay it and he was told part of the high cost is trying to get money back from people with insurance because of illegals getting free health care

I do believe we need SOME reform to our present system. We do need the federal gov to lift restrictions on insurances so we can buy a policy, if cheaper, from another state. Most of this trouble is because of the Federal governments and their restrictions. We do not need one-size-fits all policies. If I am a man or older women, I do not need maternity care. We do need to do something about malpractice suits, but I don't believe capping the outcomes is the way to go. Maybe find some kind of guide line for when you can file a malpractice suit, and we do need to get rid of pre-excisting condition limitations. I like Rand Paul's idea of having policies that are for a longer period of time than 1 year. He suggest like 20 year plans. I have never been dropped from a plan because I got sick or had surgery etc. But to completely get rid of this system for another that has been proven not to work is down right stupid. One thing i know that is in the bill that I am appalled at is the fed government coming into my house giving child rearing classes and having my children evaluated. That is waaaaaaaay to intrusive for me. This plan is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, INTURSIVE and the government NEVER runs anything well.
