AOC Posts Bizarre ‘Video From The Future’ Claiming We Only Have 12 Years to Live

The video offered more fear mongering about the world ending without the Green New Deal.

Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez partnered with The Intercept to release a truly bizarre “video from the future” in which Ocasio-Cortez discussed how the United States came to accept the necessity of the Green New Deal and saved the planet from certain doom.

The video, titled “Art of the Green New Deal: A Message From the Future With AOC”, features Ocasio-Cortez narrating an artistic rendition of the United States. It begins with Ocasio-Cortez bragging about being part of the “most diverse” Congress in the history of the country, and goes on to explain the horrible danger the world found itself in when she was elected.
“We knew that we needed to save the planet, and taht we had all the technology to do it,” narrated Ocasio-Cortez. “But people were scared.”
She went on to place the blame for climate change on corporations and politicians who, in spite of what Ocasio-Cortez says is the obvious scientific understanding that climate change will destroy the world, “kept digging and mining, drilling, and racking like there was no tomorrow.”

“Entire species will never get back, natural wonders gone forever,” Ocasio-Cortez lamented.
She went on to again reference the absurd idea that the world has only 12 years left to address climate change by cutting carbon emissions in half.
“The leading climate scientists declared another emergency,” said Ocasio-Cortez. “They told us we had 12 years left to cut our emissions in half, or hundreds of millions of people would be more likely to face food and water shortages, poverty, and death.”
“12 years to change everything.”

The video then went on to fantasize about the “decade of the Green New Deal,” in which everyone magically started to agree with Ocasio-Cortez, and saved the planet from certain doom.

According to Ocasio-Cortez’s “message from the future,” she went on to inspire more diverse individuals to run for Congress, and ultimately saved the world, like some sort of Captain Planet superhero cartoon.

Of course, Ocasio-Cortez’s video has little basis in fact.
Even if viewers assume everything in the video to be true, Ocasio-Cortez’s fantasy video does not mention the massive pollution generated by China and India whatsoever, proving it is just a fear-mongering fantasy.

While the United States is a major polluter, in 2018 China produced more pollution than the United States and the European Union combined.

Meanwhile, while air quality in the West continues to improve, India has become the most polluted country on the planet, with 11 of the 12 worst polluted cities located in India according to the World Health Organization.

Ocasio-Cortez’s video is ultimately little more than a cute cartoon meant to scare those who are naive and foolhardy enough to believe climate change poses a serious threat, and that the United States can fix the problem with no help from the global community, especially countries which have shown little to no interest in controlling their carbon emissions.

Be careful, folks. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going full "Sesame Street" commie with a cartoon video tailor-made for mass consumption.
In this 7-minute slickly made propaganda film, the radical socialist, in partnership with comrades Naomi Klein, Avi Lewis, and Kate Aronoff, has gone bananas in appointing herself the global conservator of Planet Earth.
Included in Sandy O's narration of "A Message from the Future" are the wonders of bullet trains; a "federal jobs guarantee" for the masses of worker bees plucked by the State, whether they like it or not, to build her Green New Deal infrastructure; and Medicare for All (except the elites).
The congresswoman's overt lies about the Earth's rising temperature and her push to expand high-speed rail nationally when California's own attempt failed miserably are outdone in the video by the constant drumbeat of an impending climate apocalypse if we don't decarbonize by 2030.
Ocasio-Cortez also champions something called a "universal child care initiative" and an "Americorps climate" army.

Ocasio-Cortez doesn't have the cerebral equipment to understand that this video will serve to further alienate a large part of the voting public from her ideas. Every member of the "diverse" Congress depicted in the video is female. The "children" from her district are all female. All the fat-cat oil and banking and political figures she demonizes are white men.
Writing for the Jacobin magazine in February 2019, the film's writer, Kate Aronoff, called America's energy CEO's "mass murderers." The artist incorporates this sentiment and the message "white men are the bad guys" in the film's drawings. The anti-capitalist, anti-corporation theme runs through the video from start to finish.
If this short film were satire, it would be a glorious depiction of a spiteful little upper-class bartender's attempt to save the hapless victims of a fossil fuel–driven society from disaster, who in the end discovers she is nothing but a shallow, pretentious bore.
Unfortunately, as a "true believer," Ocasio-Cortez is dead serious. Hearing that distinct voice of hers speak about the utopian grandeur of a Green New Deal, there is no doubt this chick is more than just flirting with turning the American Dream into a fascist nightmare. The question is, does she have the nerve and revolutionary zeal to back it up?
