Axelrod Insists White House Controls Census

White House political adviser David Axelrod says the Obama administration’s plan to put the U.S. Census Bureau under the control of top administration officials will keep the bureau in expert hands.

Axelrod, appearing on "FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace," said that, despite the the West Wing's move to manage the bureau, the census would continue to “be in the charge of the professionals who conduct it."

Republicans, who oppose the move on the grounds that it will politicize the 2010 census, say supervision of it by the Democratic Party will taint the results and skew new congressional representative district lines for the 2012 elections.

Last week, U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., weighed in on the move by telling Newsmax TV she and her fellow Commerce Committee members are "terribly disappointed and very concerned" that Obama wants to end the traditional autonomy of the bureau by placing it directly under the control of the White House.

Absolutely right WA!! When every illegal is counted they will then begin to allocate more funds to special interest groups, specifically those who cater to illegals. Additional seats will be allocated in Congress, which will likely be occupied by ethno-centric represenatives who's only concern will be pushing legislation which benefits their ethnic group!

Why do you think the spanish language station Telemundo is pushing so had for hispanics to be counted in the 2010 Census! They know what's going on and what it means to be counted!

The Census is now just an extension of ACORN! I cannot believe this is being allowed to happen!

This is exactly what would happen. Obama is a criminal for even thinking about doing this.

You should be required to show US ID to be able to fill out a census form for all adults on the report. Citizens of America are the people of, by, and for the people. And E-Verify is up for review this coming MONTH of MARCH, 2009.

onewholooks: In the past if you did not fill out the form - short or long, the U.S. Marshall would pay you a visit.

The Census should only count citizens.
