Ballplayer's father back home after kidnapping

TIJUANA — The father of former major league baseball player Oscar Robles, kidnapped Wednesday by gunmen, was back home with his family a day later, the Red Devils baseball team of Mexico City announced.

Oscar Robles Arangure, 54, was abducted at 7:30 p.m. while driving in the Otay Mesa district near public baseball fields where he often played dominoes, according to the Baja California Attorney General's Office.

In an announcement posted Friday on the team's Web site, the son expressed gratitude for demonstrations of support from friends, family and news media. “Fortunately, everything was resolved in a favorable manner,â€
