Beware FDIC E-Mail Scam
Beware FDIC E-Mail Scam
Fraudulent email messages claiming to come from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) that try to trick recipients into installing computer software that collects their personal information.
The subject line of the fraudulent message reads, "Check your Bank Deposit Insurance Coverage," and asks recipients to "visit the official FDIC website" which directs them to a fraudulent website that may gain unauthorized access to your online banking records.
If you receive such a fraudulent message, report it to:
FDIC Cyber-Fraud & Financial Crimes Section
