Brazil launches bus powered by hydrogen fuel cells

    The Associated Press
    3:10 p.m. July 1, 2009

SAO PAULO — Sao Paulo state officials have launched what they say is Latin America's first passenger bus with an electric engine powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

Gov. Jose Serra says the bus will start test runs on the streets of South America's biggest city in August and will be joined by three similarly powered vehicles next year.

In a fuel cell, hydrogen reacts with oxygen to produce electricity and water.

"Brazil is one of five countries in the world that have mastered this technology and that has developed a hydrogen-powered bus," Serra said at Wednesday's launching ceremony. Among the others are the U.S. and China.

The state government has not provided information regarding investment or future production plans.

You can also make your own HHO Dry cell which will subsidize the gas.
Just go to Youtube and put in HHO dry cell or hho dry cell assemblies and videos to show you how to make your own from everyday type of people.
Not hard, just time consuming but with the price of gas, why not?
The electrolisis just splits the two parts of hydrogen from the water using an electrolyte.
The engine will run cleaner and less poison coming out the tail pipe.

Check out a little Fla. company called Cyclone Power Technologies which has some great engines with external combustion that can run on garbage and the WHE engine which will convert emitted heat into power. They are listed in the OTC pink sheets as CYPW, and I am not pitching the stock, but the press releases are fascinating. They are getting plenty of military contracts, the first being from Raytheon. Their power sources have even been adapted into a six-pound energy source for troops on the field. They are working on an engine for boats, and they hope to have some prototypes in cars soon, and maybe to be able to get a contract to power the US Postal Service 900,000 mail trucks.
Brazil started their sugar-cane ethanol program over 30 years ago, while our sugar cane stubble fields in FL are burned with diesel fuel emitting methane gas.
Technology has always been one of our strongpoints and I sure would hate to see anyone else beating the US.
