Busy Week nets Agents $33 Million in Drug Seizures

Edinburg, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector kept busy over the past seven days making numerous marijuana and cocaine seizures totaling nearly 15 tons.

Beginning Thursday, agents made multiple unrelated seizures that resulted in excess of 29,000 pounds of marijuana and more than 300 pounds of cocaine seized. The seizures occurred throughout the Rio Grande Valley and north to highway checkpoints. Combined, the narcotics have an estimated value of more than $33.3 million.
