Ca. home schooling
Dear friends and family,
A law has recently been passed in California declaring that it is illegal to home school your own children unless you're a certified teacher. Our rights to parent and teach our children as our convictions lead us can so easily be taken away.

Yes, I saw that on the news this morning. I have friends who home school. They've followed all the rules then they change it on them. I guess the HS association is suing over it.
The home schooled kids I know are far and away ahead of public school children. They even have a college that has been started specifically for home schooled kids and their academics are far higher than the public colleges.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Yes, we continually are told that home schooled children score better on testing and that they are polite and mannerly as well. They are also socialized well, despite the claims to the contrary.
I just read this story Gogo. These types of things are going on in Germany too. Home school families often satellite with other organizations or schools here and the students may take their testing through them and they may receive textbooks and other information and requirements through these schools. ABEKA and other schools offer excellent programs and this is nonsense to interfere with parents who care about their children's learning and who work daily to see that their children are learning and achieving. The NEA and others do not want parents to have this choice. Less indoctrination too.
Homeschool parents pay taxes for public school education and still choose to spend their dollars and their time for a quality education with parental involvement. Most families in public school do the same, but parents should have the choice.
Ephesians 4:32Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

There is no legitimate reason for this and this is why:
All of the states require that homeschooled children take state achievement tests annually.
These tests clearly show the progress of the student, and that is ALL that is necessary to know whether or not a child is being taught. This is what WE go by to prove that the public school is doing their job.
Also, many states require that the parents keep an on-going log of their daily activities as it relates to educating their child or children.
I think California is probably so ashamed of how much better home schooled kids are doing than their pathetic schools that this could be a reason why they are doing this.
Maybe they don't want the comparison to be seen.
These parents should ask, "Is this law going to be taken as seriously as California takes immigration laws?"
P.S. Maybe they can get doctors to write notes saying that the kids cannot attend school for medical reasons.
This is pitiful. California legislators should be ashamed of themselves.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Good point. It also has to do with money. They get more federal funds for each child in the classroom. So they want to force them to go back to the public school. This could drive even more people out of California that don't want the price of private schools. This could end up being a double whammy for California. Less tax revenues for people leaving and the children leaving the schools.
Many people have left CA so they are losing students. If illegals are leaving at all, they are also losing students and funds.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I propose if such a law is passed that we simply ignore it and continue to home school our children if you so desire.
Completely ignoring the law seems to work for the illegal invaders. Why shouldn't American Citizens also be allowed to completely disregard those laws in which we do not agree with??Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
