Con: Open carry provokes, doesn't protect

    The issue

Proponents of openly carrying unloaded firearms in public have staged demonstrations around the state, including in San Diego County, generally notifying law enforcement in advance and cooperating with officers who check the weapons to ensure they are not loaded. They say their actions are a protest against government infringement on 2nd Amendment rights. Assemblywoman Lori Saldana, D-San Diego, has introduced legislation that would ban the open carry of unloaded weapons.

Been to your local coffee shop lately? Most likely you had some cash, your cell phone, maybe your laptop … Did you bring your gun along?

Look around. It’s quite possible that some of the other patrons are toting unloaded guns in holsters. Their ammunition clips are readily available. These people are members of what is known as the open carry movement, groups showing up in communities across the nation, including San Diego County.

Appearing at a North County mall, members of the movement insisted that their right to carry guns supersedes the safety of the public. Some say that they are serving a useful purpose; they are “protectingâ€

This is a joke of an article and a joke of an arguement by this person who has a phobia of guns. She must go into a panic and hyper-ventilates if she sees a gun on TV.

Her fear is the fear of many anti-gun nuts that when they see a person exercising their rights to carry a firearm they get all worked up over it because their true fear is that they know nothing about the person with the gun so they assume the worst and think in their twisted mind that they must be a criminal and have bad intentions.

They believe because of their fear that they should be entitled to restrict or remove other peoples rights just so they can feel better about their space not being intruded by such a ghastly scene such as an American exercising their right.

Well maybe one of those Americans who carry don't like to hear her exercise her 1st Amendment right to spew garbage from her mouth but they don't go running off trying to enact laws to prevent that. Just makes me sick when I hear the garbage that comes out of their mouths as they attempt to justify their rationale of somebody else shouldn't get the same enjoyment to exercise their rights.

If you are uncomfortable around firearms, fine, just go somewhere else where you would be more comfortable. Don't demand that we have to change just to accomodate your feelings.

Now, as to the following quote from law enforcement

"law enforcement agencies have issued repeated warnings similar to the one from the San Mateo County sheriff on January 14 that “open carry advocates create a potentially dangerous situation.â€

You can carry a clip,of ammo too. The clip just can't be in the gun until the law would allow you to use it, such as your life is in danger, or someone else's life is in danger.

yeah...what moron passed that law...oh...I forgot...Cali-Mexico did...I can't figure out why those guys even stay in California and not move to a state such as Arizona that promotes freedom to enjoy your rights to its fullest. I give them credit for continuing the fight to hold onto our second amendment rights in a state that has been slowly allowing them to erode.

We need patriots in all areas of the country to keep the fight going.
