CBP Seizes Dresses and Tops Containing Excessive Levels of Lead and Flammable Children’s Pajamas
Release Date: March 27, 2020
CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Champlain Port of Entry seized two commercial shipments on March 25.
One seizure was of girls’ tops and dresses after they were discovered to have excessive amounts of lead and the second shipment were children’s pajamas that failed flammability requirement standards.
On January 28, CBP officers examined a shipment of girls’ dresses that were manufactured in China.
Working in collaboration with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) a sample was provided for further testing. CPSC test results revealed that the sample contained excessive amounts of lead that are banned under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.
Subsequently, CBP seized the shipment totaling 42 tops and dresses with an MSRP value of more than $700.
In another shipment from early January, CBP officers examined children’s pajamas that were also manufactured in China in collaboration with CPSC. CPSC determined the products failed the flammability requirements under the Flammable Fabrics Act and recommended seizure. On March 25, CBP seized 77 children’s pajamas with an MSRP value of more than $1,500.
Flammable children's pajamas seized.
“Our close working relationship with CPSC prevented extremely harmful clothing from entering the commerce and potentially prevented some serious health issues,” said Port Director Steven Bronson.
Cooperative enforcement efforts prevent harmful and dangerous products from entering the country. Consumers should visit SaferProducts.gov or call CPSC’s toll-free hotline at (800) 638-2772 to report dangerous products or to learn about product recall information.

China, the "gift" that keeps on giving. Fake ID's, Corona Virus, Theft of our Property, goods full of chemicals that harm our citizens, the list is long.
Send some of these cheap labor jobs to Southern Mexico and Central America on the agreement they round up all their gangs and put them in jails. It would be cheaper to ship from there than all the way from China. Send their illegals home, pay a livable wage, and put them to work at home.
BRING ALL OUR JOBS BACK!!!ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
