He did. Maybe unwittingly. Aside from that and getting back to federal taxation, as our founders intended, would help make illegal immigration less profitable.

There are a number of pro illegal immigration groups who use our tax system to finance illegal immigrants. Some provide legal assistance to help keep them here, others provided resettlement assistance, and still other provide temporary housing ____ all financed through tax exempt groups. One of the groups, the Southern Poverty Law Center, has filed a number of actions to obstruct Trump's attempt to deal with the ongoing invasion of our border.

Let us not forget how important federal taxation relates to illegal immigration!

Trump ignored the immigration issue for months (didn't even talk about it) while he worked to get his tax package through. Now, he brags about that tax package. Why didn't he address those issues you mentioned?
