The day the republic came to an end

On March 21, 2010, a day that will live in infamy, our beloved constitutional republic came to an end. Its murder was committed by a slim majority in the House of Representatives by socialist Democrats who have given us a new form of government: state socialism. By that vote, the great legacy of freedom given us by our Founding Fathers was thrown on the trash heap. And the man most responsible for making this happen is the socialist despot in the White House, Barack Hussein Obama.

We can now say with nothing less than certainty that Barack Obama absorbed every word of his America-hating preacher in the church he and his wife attended for 20 years. He lied his way into the White House with the help of socialist Democrats who admire Fidel Castro more than they do George Washington.

And so, Barack Hussein Obama will go down in history as having achieved what no one believed an elected American president could ever achieve, the destruction of our constitutional republic. He joins that freedom-hating pantheon of philosophers and despots like Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot and other such political leaders who led millions of people into slavery and death.

And now that the congressional wolves in sheep's clothing, like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, have shown us their true totalitarian colors, the American people can see how their corrupt machinations have brought us to our present unhappy state. And they've told us with great glee that the passage of the national health-care bill is only the beginning of their efforts to transform America.

Will the Democrats preside over free and fair elections this fall? Don't bet on it! Read Whistleblower magazine's "Stealing the Next Election"

What will the American people do in response to this socialist takeover of their government? The tea-party movement is just the beginning. Now that the socialists among us have shown what their true aims are, there is no need for the freedom opposition to treat these traitors with any obsequious politeness. Let's not mince any words. The idea that the only way to get people health insurance is by destroying all of our traditions of individual freedom is an idea made in hell. There are a whole lot of other legitimate ways to get people health insurance.

The left has used the health-care problem as only one of their means of destroying our way of life. Climate change is another. Energy is another. The plan to impose socialist totalitarianism over America has been long in the making. It did not start with the election of Barack Obama, but Obama seems to have been the perfect battering ram to do the job of destroying the constitutional foundations of our government.

There is no doubt that he is highly intelligent, clever, engaging, comfortable with himself and thoroughly evil. His decision to postpone his travels in order to oversee the passage of his national health-care bill indicates the depth of his commitment to socialist totalitarianism. In fact, the passage of that 2,700-page bill is a giant step in that direction. And I don't think there is any doubt any longer that Mr. Obama is quite capable of becoming as ruthless a dictator as any of his socialist predecessors.

The elections in November will tell us what the American people are made of. We have not yet reached the stage where violence is called for. We have been so well-educated to believe that democratic elections can solve our problems, that until now we have found peaceful compromise to be the best form of political activism. Non-violent, peaceful opposition is still a force to be reckoned with.

But socialists think otherwise. They believe in violent revolution, and the 20th century has shown how they will not hesitate to murder millions of people to carry out their plans for a coercive utopia. But Americans are loath to believe that any one among us would consider or condone such brutal massacres as a way of achieving political ends. But if you believe in man's innate depravity, you will have no illusions about what some men are capable of doing.

Who would have believed that the civilized German people, with their universities, museums and opera houses, could descend to such barbarism under the Nazi government as to invent human extermination camps during World War II? So the impossible is not at all impossible.

Let us not deceive ourselves any longer. If we want future generations of Americans to live in freedom, this present generation will have to do whatever it takes to bring this about. In the American Revolution, thousands died to achieve history's greatest and most benevolent form of government. It was not achieved through an election. And we have sent thousands of young Americans abroad to fight communism, fascism and socialism. Thousands sacrificed their lives so that we could continue to live in freedom. And so the burning question is: What are we, their beneficiaries, willing to do to preserve freedom?
