Democrats Privately Calling Obama 'Detached,' 'Flat Footed,' 'Incompetent'

CNN's John King reports that Democrats are privately calling President Obama "detached," "flat footed," and "incompetent."



"Forget for a moment that Republican outrage," said King on his CNN show this morning. "More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary. And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing, calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent.
"Maggie Haberman," said King turning to a panelist, "that's what strikes me, what democrats are saying privately in the wakes of the healthcare.gov problems, they see a president who doesn't want to take command, doesn't want to act fast. Raising the competence question. Some Democrats, who believe in government, [are saying] this White House doesn't appear to have its hand on the lever."
Haberman of Politico agreed, cited more examples, and added: "All of this adds up to somebody who just doesn't seem at all involved."

“The veterans’ health scandal is more than just another 2008 promise,” begins the normally Obama-sycophantic CNN host John King, then showing a clip from 2008 of Obama talking about veterans’ healthcare, saying, “I want to make sure they’re being treated with honor and respect.”

King says that Obama’s press conference this week on the VA (Veterans’ Affairs) scandal, in which he made, in King’s own words, a “wait-and-see” approach to addressing the scandal in which untold number of veterans were left to die waiting for care from the government-run health care agency, could be remembered as the “breaking point.”

King explained to his “Inside Politics” audience that Democrats are privately making “scathing” comments about Obama, calling him, “detached, flat-footed and even incompetent,” in the wake of the VA scandal, combined with his non-action in dealing with his other many scandals:

CNN: Democrat Response to Obama’s Handling Of VA Is Starting To Sound A Lot Like…Republicans

Referring to Barack Obama’s “wait and see” statement last week on the growing VA scandal as a “breaking point,” CNN’s John King said Sunday that in addition to Republican criticism, even Democrats are now calling Obama incompetent and detached.

“More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary.

And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing, calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent.”

Not only did Obama wait 23 days before responding to the latest scandal to engulf his presidency, the White House claimed he first learned about it through the media. Just as has been the case with previous scandals.
When Obama finally did speak out, instead of firing VA head Eric Shinseki — as called for by members of both parties — he heaped praise on the embattled secretary. Obama also said he would await the results of “a full report” before deciding on further action.
So, is Obama detached and incompetent? The continuing pattern suggests so. In the minds of a growing number Democrats, anyway.
