220 politicians who swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution voted Saturday to openly betray everything it stands for in an unprecedented assault on the Bill of Rights...as well as on health care, the economy, and fiscal responsibility.
The Bill of Rights is a protection of the states against the federal government. It was added to the Constitution to get reluctant states like New York and Virginia on board. Such states were convinced that the creation of this new federal government would someday lead to exactly what has now happened.
American citizens will now go to jail and be fined for not purchasing the kind of insurance Nancy Pelosi wants them to have. And as I previously noted, 111 new federal bureaucracies will now interfere with every aspect of the doctor-patient relationship with impunity. The right to make your own health care choices will be all but eliminated. Dependence on the nanny state is the only thing future generations will know or understand.

The 10th Amendment clearly states that anything not specifically spelled out in the Constitution as a federal power is a power that the federal government does not have. Any such power is supposed to be automatically deferred to the states, where the individual citizen has the maximum control over his own life and community.
This needless trillion-dollar takeover is nothing more than a scam for power and control. It is not permitted under the Constitution.
It is an inexcusable attack on the rule of law by an unaccountable, un-representative leftist thugocracy.
