Detroit Rocked By More Scandals

Months after its corrupt mayor gets charged with serious crimes, one major city’s council is being federally investigated for accepting bribes from a company in exchange for approval of a lucrative multi million-dollar contract.

It wasn’t enough that Detroit’s scandal-plagued mayor (Kwame Kilpatrick) made headlines earlier this year for lying under oath to cover an extramarital affair with a city employee during a police whistleblower trial last year that cost taxpayers millions to settle. A 12-count indictment charges Kilpatrick, whose tenure has been infested with corruption, with perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct in office.


Now several members of the Detroit City Council are suspected of taking bribes to approve a $47 million contract last fall with a Houston company to handle sludge waste from the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The FBI has electronic surveillance evidence of City Council President Pro Tem Monica Conyers taking bribes from the company, Synagro Technologies.


Conyers initially opposed the sludge contract but voted in favor of it after accepting payments from the company, according to federal investigators. Besides council members, other city officials are being probed for their role in the scandal including the disgraced mayor’s top political consultant (Michael Tardif) who also happens to be a prominent member of the Democratic National Committee.


The Synagro investigation is actually part of a broader FBI probe of a City Hall long plagued with fraud and corruption. Several other public deals are also being scrutinized, including $45 million in unauthorized contracts through the school district’s risk management office.


Scandal seems to be par for the course in Detroit, which has seen former City Council members and even a police chief indicted, arrested or imprisoned. The current mayor is probably next, followed by at least a few sitting council members.

I live in Detroit and I have seen the city get worse and worse by the year. We are taught by our pathetic "Left-wing" press that there is nothing wrong with the city government; it is only "White racism" that causes problems in the city and everyone points fingers at poor working class whites who have had to suffer a huge amount of stigmitization and job loss from middle-class and well-to-do Blacks who whine and carry on that white people are failures for not wanting to give all of their money and labor to Blacks as a form of recompensation for slavery.

I remember a Black co-oworker of mine telling me that if "Black people did not steal, they would have nothing."

Now that the stealing is complete I guess nobody in Detroit is going to have anything. Record numbers of people are moving out because of the hostility and failure that permeates the city like a dark cloud. Newpaper articles claim that White people who just can't take anymore of "America's Worst City" are, you guessed it, "racists".

And you may also remember that Detroit is also a "sanctuary city".

Detroit is a perfect example of a radical far-left Democrat social experiment that has ruined a city. Proof that what has been said of the "Liberal Fascism Doctrine is true." Far left, radical Democrats, which have hijacked the Democratic Party and the black and hispanic radical race based advocates ARE INVESTED IN OUR ECONOMY, SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND COUNTRY'S FAILURE. By the chaos and dissent that ensues, they can use it to their advantage to gain in power with their 'compassionate socialism' doctrine for what they claim are abused, disenfranchised and exploited victims (any minority of color and low wage earning people) by what they state is our current American system that is racist and exploitative.

The radical far left of the Democratic party (which is the sector of Dems that are calling the shots for the entire party) rose to power and are keeping themselves in power by convincing their constituents that they are "victims" in America. Only the radical, socialistic Democratic party can deliver them from their "victimness" and make it all right in the world for them (by redistributing wealth by stealing from productive members of society and, of course, further inflating and growing the federal government). Not only that, but the radical left wants open borders and is intent on giving a "key" to America, including citizenship, to 20 million plus invaders. Further proof that radical liberalism is a mental disorder.
