Welcome, claritynow, and I have to agree with you. There is a huge difference between concentration camps and displacement camps. A close relative was a displaced person in one of these camps during WWII. She and her family were desperate since their country home was burned down, along with their clothes in summer. They moved to their city house which was blown up by a Russian bomb that winter (luckily no one was hurt) but they had no food, no clothes and the Russians had devalued their money overnight, replacing every bank account, no matter how much it was worth with 10 rubles. They had no alternative but move to a displacement camp where there was at least beds and food. There were no restrictions on any of the refugees and she soon found a job as a translator and was able to rent an apartment.
These are not concentration camps where someone ends up in a gas chamber because their tooth fillings are gold or they are so starved they cannot do hard labor. This is preparation for the worst of the worst, like another Cat-5 hurricane hitting the US. It may be a better answer than watching families in N.O. sit in their destroyed homes waiting for FEMA trailers that were sinking in the mud in Arkansas, and were built with the cheapest, most toxic materials to be found.

And welcome to ALIPAC claritynow..........and that is one reason we get on here is to compare notes with one another since we all live in different parts of the country and can watch what may be happening in our neighborhood so to speak....

Exactly. Sometimes certain areas of the country see things happening long before anyone else see's there's a problem. Just look at illegal immigration. Outsourcing of jobs. Housing crisis. Most people ignore those things until they have a direct impact on their own lives.......at the beginning people are just crazy, lazy, racist, whatever.....till it happens to enough and becomes a crisis.
