    I don't know. I haven't heard conclusively one way or the other.

    I know he does hammer away on the ID issue in general though. Maybe his position is kind of like mine: I want a much stronger, standardized state-issue ID, but not one that is issued or dictated by the Fed Gov't (FG).

    So far, the penalties imposed by the FG upon the states that choose to 'opt out' of the REAL ID requirements are rather lame. All such thing does is remove the recognition by the FG of State issued IDs for purposes of entering Federal buildings, aircraft, etc. - but then sets into place, that whatever alternate system of [secure] ID the states implement be in place and operational, in.. <drumroll here>... 2014. Gee, 13 years after 9/11. Now, that, folks, is 'progress'
