Don’t Mess With Texas (Parents)

Barack says we can! Last summer and fall we were all told just how much we loved, admired, and needed a President Barack Obama, but I guess there is that fine line between love and hate. Imposing a narcissistic president on school children seems to be where that line’s been crossed.

A groundswell of parent opposition to President Barack Obama’s speech next week to students on the importance of education has forced many North Texas school districts to question whether to air it live in classrooms.

By midday, local school districts say, they were inundated with hundreds of phone calls from parents urging them to not show Obama’s speech at school. Some parents threatened to keep their children home from school if the video was aired.

From now on, if the president wants to address the children during class time, he may want to consider what every other person seeking access has to do: send home a note and alert parents in advance. A public announcement his will be done may cut it within the walls of government where Obama’s the top of the chain, but on the street, he’s someone whose welcome has worn thin and “leave my kids aloneâ€
