Thread: Feeling silly....a new business venture.

With the recent news about the squat toliets at the Olympics (in China)and the risk of finding the few they will have.....someone can invent a portable carry along seat for those occations.

Beijing Olympics - Bathroom Issue
Posted by adminFebruary 25, 2008As everyone I’m sure already knows Beijing is host to the 2010 Olympics and it is fast approaching. China has been setting up and preparing for these Olympics for years now and have loaded lots of money into it to build stadiums and facilities but they have seemed to forgot one big issue, being the fact there are hardly any normal bathrooms in which westerners are accustomed too.

If your going to Beijing for the Olympics in 2010 be prepared to have to use a squat style toilet and also make sure your ready to be watched by anyone passing by as there are no doors on these toilets. Certain areas will have the toilets westerners are accustomed to but only a fraction of the amount needed.

Toilet paper also seems to be rising an issue for these Olympic games because in Beijing apart from the luxurious hotels you won’t find any normal toilet paper. They use a very harsh rough style toilet paper which easily gets clogged in draining systems. I think with the millions of people who will be at these Olympic games will have a rude awakening when the use of a bathroom is necessary.

I’m sure it will still be a treat for anyone though and I wish I could take part but unfortunately that won’t be happening.

Primitive...but not shocking...maybe the olympics should be held in Dubai for the real luxury deal.

I'm not sure if even the seated toliets will have basic plumbing.....may have to hose them as well......my husband just joked and said a public out house. He was thinking on the line of lawn chairs with a hole......I was thinking more on the line of those little canvas folding fishing stools....make them in vinyl or something..washable and a little less cumbersome than a lawn chair.....maybe with your nations flag or the olympic logo so you have a little momento of your trip.
