    (7.13.09) -- After the Supreme Court overturned a racial discrimination ruling of a lower court which Sonia Sotomayor sat on, supporters of Barack Obama's nominee have asked that the media engage in more intense scrutiny and/or criticism of Frank Ricci, the lead claimant in the "white firefighters" case.

    Ricci is scheduled to testify at Sotomayor's confirmation hearings this week.

    Critics of have likened this treatment of Ricci to that of the now-famous "Joe the Plumber" from the 2008 presidential campaign:
