Sad isn't it? What a mess. I feel so sorry for those poor birds and fish. Seeing them saturated in that oil is just heartbreaking.

It really is tragic. There is also a load of dispersants in the slick. Some of the spill cleanup workers have gotten sick from it. So I bet it is making the wildlife sick as well. The symptoms are flu like. Death by oil slick is probably a painful death. Besides making BP pay for the economic damage, I think they should pay for the environmental damage as well. They should also have to pay for the suffering. I dont think that should go unaccounted for. I dont care if it puts them out of business. Other drilling companies can pick up the slack and expand.

I agree 100%. I don't know why BP was given this lease to begin with. I don't even know why they're the King Pin up in Alaska for the Alaska Oil Pipeline built in the 1970's when we have so many oil companies at that time. I don't get this at all.

Horrible. Those are those beautiful Louisiana Brown Pelicans, the Louisiana State Bird. Ghastly. BP did not contain this spill. They can whine all they want that they have thousands of boats on the job and tens of thousands of people on the task, but they aren't on the task or that oil would have never hit the Louisiana marshes.
