FUTILITY OF TWO PURPOSELESS WARS: IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN

As of September 28, 2009--American soldiers dead in Iraq: 4,262. Americans wounded in Iraq: 30,182. Americans killed in Afghanistan: 840. Americans wounded in Afghanistan: 1,581. Total Iraqi civilians and Iraqi soldiers killed in Iraq: 733,280 and 1,398,087 wounded. (Source) http://www.unknownnews.com/casualities.html Refugees created: 2.5 million Iraqi citizens. Cost of the war to U.S. taxpayers: $12 billion every 30 days and, to date, $750 billion. Length of wars: eight years. Estimated end of those two wars: no end in sight. Purpose of wars: none defined, none understood.

One reader said, “How many people do we intend to kill to obtain whatever is our objective in Afghanistan? The Soviet Union killed a million before leaving…the flight schools in Florida were the training camps that made the tragedy for 9/11 possible. And the individuals responsible were not even from Afghanistan—17 of the hijackers were Saudi Arabians! What threat are these Afghanistans? That is one of the poorest nations in the world. They don’t have missiles, they don’t have nuclear weapons, no air force, they don’t even have a helicopter. What kind of threat do they pose to the U.S. that justifies killing them?â€

When we do leave Iraq, the Iraq government will collaspe, the sunni's and shites will start a civil war, the Turks will invade from the north and capture the oil fields from the Kurds and drive them south and this is just for starters. Syria and Iran will also figure in Iraq's collaspe. Afghanistan is a basket case, without invading southern pakistan where the problem really is, we will never win there.

The war in Afghanistan is really being fought over strategic resources under the smokescreen of fighting the Taliban. Most wars are fought over resources and this is a classic example.
