As of September 28, 2009--American soldiers dead in Iraq: 4,262. Americans wounded in Iraq: 30,182. Americans killed in Afghanistan: 840. Americans wounded in Afghanistan: 1,581. Cost of the war to U.S. taxpayers: $12 billion every 30 days and, to date, $750 billion. Length of wars: eight years. Estimated end of those two wars: no end in sight.
