Synopsis: The invasion of Germany, in particular, and Western Europe in general, was dealt a crushing blow today when citizens of Germany’s largest state, Bavaria, went to the polls to elect representatives to its state parliament. But the implications of the Bavarian elections go far beyond Germany – they are shaking the very foundations of the EU and ever globalism, itself. Five years ago, the largest political party in Bavaria, the CSU – the sister party of German Prime Minister Angela Merkel’s party – took a crushing defeat – going from a near outright majority of 47.7% last election down to between 35 and 39% this election – depending or varying reports. Twenty percent of the vote has yet to be tallied. The big winners was the far left Green party. In the 2013 election, it received between 15 and 18% - nearly doubling its count last time. The big surprise is the fast-rising, right-wing Alternative for Germany party – or AfD - which doubled its vote up to 11%, giving it representatives in the Bavarian parliament for the first time. AfD has been the most outspoken party against the open borders policy of Prime Minister Merkel.
