Glenn Beck compares Norwegian victims to 'Hitler Youth'

Radio personality Glenn Beck is taking flak for comparing the young Norwegian shootings victims and their friends to "Hitler youth."

"As the thing started to unfold and there was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler Youth. Who does a camp for kids that's all about politics? Disturbing," Beck said on his program this morning.

A former press secretary to Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg called Beck's comment "a new low" for the former Fox News star, London's Daily Telegraph reports.

"Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about," he told the newspaper. "Glenn Beck's comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful."

In Washington, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence called the comparison "absolutely disgusting," the Telegraph writes.

Mediaite writes, "While Beck's Hitler Youth comment is shocking (sure, he's never been a fan of left-wing groups "indoctrinating"children but, come on, a bunch of teenagers were just murdered), his other comments were just as interesting." More on that here.

The liberal media hates Beck takes every opportunity to take pot shots. No Christian would condone the senseless mass murder of young people regardless of their political leanings.

Taken completely out of context. Beck wasn't comparing the victims - the kids or people themselves - to Hitler youth, but more like the camp theme or political ideology to the youth camps/training of Adolf Hitler.
